Egypt crisis impact on Sudan

Image
Despite the fact that I did not like President Mursi at all I thought it would a good chance to expose the Brotherhood for the people to see but what happened in Egypt has no description but a military coup ! I know Mursi abused the power of his office specially when there was no legislative power to oppose him or keep him in check and even if there was one most likely it will be dominated by his own party!  what happened in Egypt is short term gain for long term loss. I have always been an advocate  for letting  Political Islamist to reach power via election and let them role and experience the burdens of governing people, that is the best way to expose their empty promises and their hypocrisy. In addition it prevent them from taking the violent rout to reach power when they see it is a fair game and the people are the ones who decided who is staying in power and who is leaving.  I hope the leadership of the Muslim brotherhood are wise enough to control t...

LEARNING THE HARD WAY!

Image
The recent event in Egypt showed how inexperienced the Muslim Brotherhood in matter of governing under a democratic system. Despite what ever Egypt has is far away from being described as democracy still there is a good amount of freedom of expression which is the underpinning of any healthy democracy. The Muslim brothers thought post Mubarak era will be a walk in the park. they thought there is no one but them and the other parties are so weak to oppose. they were proved wrong. English: (Islam_Is_The_Solution.jpg) arabic logo to muslim brotherhood organization (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Like most  Islamists   they did not think it through. They only think of taking power and control but they have no idea about governing. they have quite vague  mottoes  like " Islam is the solution" but they never told us how Islam is going to solve the unemployment problem, or housing, or improve education and health status of Egyptians ! ...

It is Huge!

As I predicted, NCP is in big trouble! The loss of oil revenue and the need to keep security forces happy Bashir had no choice but to increase taxes and stop subsiding basic commodities. Bashir’s options are limited, if he stays in Sudan he will prosecuted or even handed over to ICC , the only place where he can run to which out of the reach of ICC is either KSA or Iran but both countries will be risking relations with the new Sudan. Take my word, he will fight to the end, the question what will the men around him do? The current demonstration is gaining momentum and traction. Students start it but now more sectors of the Sudanese community are involved and the numbers of participants is increasing day after day. It is just a matter of time for the Bashir’s government to collapse. Sudan is late in its “Spring” compared to other Arab nations such Tunisia or Egypt but in fact Sudan is a head of the curve. This will be the THIRD time people of Sudan revolts against a dictator,...

Sudan and the Arab league

Image
LiveJournal Tags: Sudan , Arab League , Justice , Egypt , Tunis , Morocco , Islamist To be honest I so surprised by the stand of the Arab league evolving in such way towards the situation in Syria! The last time such actions were taken against an Arab nation was when Egypt reached a peace deal with Israel. There are many contradictions within the current situation. Many of members of the Arab league themselves do not hold high regards toward human rights in the first place while trying to hide their own abuses. I guess Syria is unlucky it is just really bad timing. Because of its alliance with Iran all gulf nations were against Assad. Egypt, Tunis, and Libya can not support him anymore. Even Sudan voted against Assad. Sudan vote really confused me. Is Bashir not worried that he might be in the same shoes of Assad sooner or later? Oh wait, Bashir already did the same in Darfur and south Kordofan. Instead the Arab league got behind him. But time has  changed, if revolutions co...

The day after the Match

Image
I am really surprised how things turned on after Egypt vs Algeria match! There is no clear picture of what happened in Khartoum , but is is clearly no like what had been told in the Egyptain media. This article in (al Sudanese)( Arabic ) newspaper explain what happen to the Egyptian fan in Khartoum. The whole things seems to be very minor incident which is expect after any match specially if it is for a world cup qualification. From a Sudanese preservative, people were happy to have such a match in their city, but how the the Egyptain media(specially Amer Adeeb & Ibrahim Higazi, Google them) portrayed Sudan as a jungle people are really angry on Egypt. No one in Egypt is talking about the Match and why did they lose the Match! instead they are escalating the tension with Algeria. That what I call "state of denial" in reference to: الاعتذار الرسمى أو المهانة !! ( view on Google Sidewiki ) Related articles by Zemanta Football fever turns nasty in Cairo (cn...

The Match

Image
I have to say i have not seen a football match become so tense as the football match between Egypt and Algeria .  There has been exchange of fire in the media and on the internet between the two countries before Cairo match, stone throwing on vans carrying players and fans destroying airlines offices. All this made officials in Khartoum on their tip toes.  15,000 police officer is going to be deployed for the match, the whole state of Khartoum is going to be on high alert. Everyone knows where the Egyptian and Algeria are standing, but what about Sudanese? While Algeria chose Tunisia , Egypt choice was on Khartoum. basically for logistic reasons. When it come to Egypt, Sudanese are divided. some keep repeating the old them “one valley, one nation” but others are doubtful and skeptic  about everything Egyptian. Egypt in fact occupied Sudan with British partnership. currently Egypt is occupying Sudanese territories which it claim it was never a Sudanese territory bef...
